Chilling out at Wilderness Festival
Wilderness Festival, set in the beautiful Oxfordshire countryside on the Cornbury Park Estate, is fast establishing itself as the most high-end festival on the summer calendar. We couldn’t think of a festival more suited to our Sperry sailcloth tents, and this year, two of our structures were at the heart of the revelry. We’re delighted to be at Wilderness Festival 2016, and we hope you can join us!
At the festival’s core, world-class chefs including Raymond Blanc and Angela Hartnett supply fine-dining experiences. Our largest Sperry tent played host to the long table banquets, and artist Celia Smith created a breathtaking new installation for the tent canopy. When guests looked up as they feasted on sumptuous food, they saw GULP* – which comprised a flock of 250 beautifully crafted swallows swooping and dancing over head. *Gulp is the collective noun for a flock of swallows.
The fields of Cornbury Park Estate are a wonderful place to set up home for the weekend. The Boutique Camping area made a stay at Wilderness one that luxury-seeking festival-goers would never forget. A second Sperry tent was central to Boutique Camping, where facilities included an exclusive restaurant, bar, and a chill-out area to relax in, alongside luxury toilets and showers.
We also worked with Multiply, an integrated creative agency in Edinburgh, and their client, Highland Park Whisky, to create an immersive brand experience at Wilderness. Festival-goers were invited to ‘Step Into The Dark’, an immersive brand experience that transported them to the sights, sounds and smells of Orkney, with a tasting of Highland Park by torchlight.
