What may, however, come as a surprise is that Filmore & Union are branching out beyond their eight beautiful zen like havens and extending their offering to outside parties and weddings, bringing us an exclusive Filmore & Union pop–up Café as part of the PapaKåta Open Weekend.

The fit couldn’t be more perfect; Filmore & Union – the pioneers of vibrant sharing platters and comforting treats – and PapaKåta with our Teepees and Sperry tents providing stunning, warm and inviting spaces in which to enjoy them.

This season’s wedding and party trend for communal family style dining, informal seating and long banquet style tables makes the fit all the more appropriate. Here we suggest ideas to create your own perfect dining space – one that your guests will absolutely love, and with no stuffy formal seating in sight they’ll thank you for it too!

A little more conversation
Long table arrangements have seated guests on the other side of the pond in recent years, with America embracing the trend that first became popular in Australia and South Africa. In contrast to historical opinions that long tables might restrict the flow of conversation, the increasing popularity of this arrangement is testament to positive word of mouth. As the evening moves on, open log-burning fires, custom dance floors, lighting and pop-up bars encourage guests to mingle together.
