We’ve been working with Lunchbox Theatrical Productions (the team that help us run THOR’S tipi) to bring you THOR’S SOL ÁST– The love of summer.
Drawing inspiration from our Christmas bars, THOR’S SOL AST pop up tipi bar will be at home in York Minster Gardens from 4th July until 2nd September. THOR’S SÓL ÁST is a sunny & summery Valhalla on Earth.
Combining indoor cosiness, with alfresco gardens & summer vibes. You can feast like a Viking straight from the roaring BBQ, washed down with alfresco drinking and lounge on a daybed whilst listening to summer tunes.
This is a fantastic opportunity to see our lovely Teepees in all of their glory and enjoy a tipple (or two) within the stunning surroundings of York Minster’s gardens.

We’re also working with some shining stars in Yorkshire’s retail scene to create the ultimate Summer experience…
The folks at the mussel pot will be lighting the flames and cooking up a storm on our very own alfresco BBQ. You can feast on some BBQed meats and refreshing salads all sourced locally with the freshest of ingredients. What better way to spend a balmy summer evening, than under the peaks of our Teepees feasting like a true Viking?!
Shaking it up, we have Funkin Cocktails who’ve created us a bespoke blend of ‘Minster Martini’, especially for SÓL ÁST’s pop up tipi bar. Suave, sweet and ever so tempting the Minster Martini imitates the classic Pornstar Martini and is a deliciously lavish cocktail perfect for those summer months.
The folks at Brew York have (like the Vikings) reunited to bring us a summery twist on our infamous Freya’s lager- Freya’s Gold. Refined and crisp in taste, perfect for a summers evening, Freya’s Gold will be going down a storm this summer.
Paired with the folks at the Luna Cinema, The 28th, 29th & 30th August will see the Luna Cinema make its debut in York’s Minster Gardens. Pan’s Labyrinth will be shown on August 28, Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone will be screened on August 29 and The Greatest Showman will be shown on August 30. Join us for a tipple or two before a fabulous night of cinema under the stars.
