PapaKåta goes on a Tentipi Adventure
At the beginning of this week, Papa’s Chris and Damien were lucky enough to be packing up to jet off to Swedish Lapland for the adventure of a lifetime with our good friends and the creators of the amazing Nordic Teepee, Tentipi. Their mission: to discover the heritage and craftsmanship that goes into making our beautiful teepees.
Before we share with you the highlights of their trip, let us tell you a little bit about the amazing Tentipi team…
Bengt Grahn, the founder of Tentipi dreamt of building a tent that provided a warm, social space that sheltered from the pesky mosquitos in Swedish Lapland. Over the past 25 years, Tentipi have been striving to create the perfect teepee design and personally we think they’ve got it just right with our beloved Kåtas!
Now let the adventure begin…
Chris and Damien hopped on the plane to Arvidsjaur, via Stockholm. No time to waste – straight to the original Tentipi factory for a lesson in sewing teepee canvas! The Papa Team were very impressed with their Tipi shopping bag’ creations!
The team of intrepid teepee travellers then headed into the Tjärnheden forest on their snowmobiles to set up their fire lit teepee paradise. Jealous much?!
Their next two days were filled with reindeer spotting, ice fishing, dog sledging and stargazing… They even got to see the wondrous Northern Lights! Despite sub-zero temperatures and snowfall, the teepees provided the cosiest of shelters for sleeping under the stars.
A once in a lifetime trip that both Chris and Damien are sure to never forget! Call us geeky but most of all, we love being able to further develop our technical knowledge of the amazing Kåta tents with the Tentipi team.
THANK YOU TENTIPI!
