PapaKåta Autumn Open Weekend 2017: Supplier Heroes
We’ve shared our Teepee images, our Sperry images, and all the associated style gurus from our Autumn Open Weekend 2017. What we haven’t done is shouted from the rooftops about the (as yet) unsung heroes of our Autumn Open Weekend – those friendly faces who greeted us all with the warmest welcome and kept us fed, watered and entertained over the course of the weekend.
If you haven’t already booked your wedding or event day suppliers, you couldn’t go wrong with any or all of this bunch of Little Black Book lovelies! Without further ado, here’s to the catering, drinks and entertainment saviours who helped to make our Open Weekend a success…
The Hog and Apple Company:
They promised us Asian fusion-style dining. Using Eastern cooking techniques to create great tasting mini dishes – with their delicious donburi they did not disappoint!
The Hog and Apple Company are all about friendly, informal and contemporary event catering. They offer their own take on food theatre, and are the perfect choice for all you foodies out there; those who are looking to avoid the stuffy, seen-before wedding breakfast and instead want to transport guests to their personal pop-up dining experience.
In answer to our ‘Season of Colour’ brief, Speakeasy Libations only went and created colour changing cocktails! We can testify that their impressive looks are only surpassed by their taste! With Alex at Speakeasy you can expect a friendly approach and a can-do attitude – with the option to create a bespoke service and cocktails as unique as you and your event.
If you haven’t already booked a photo booth as an accompaniment to your wedding or event, consider this – an album of your nearest and dearest, making shapes and funny faces in honour of you and your celebration. With the added bonus of the best favours you can buy – a hilarious, sentimental, or even beautiful keepsake memento from your special day. We speak for all the Papa Peeps when we confidently say – “photo booths never get old!” In testament to this, every Open Weekend we hold (twice a year since 2006), the PapaKåta Team are the first in the Photo Booth, usually wielding a lobster, horses head, or novelty glasses!
When it comes to wedding and event DJs, our clients often prefer the ambience of Café Del Mar Sunsets over Phoenix Nights! With this in mind, we call upon DJ Boon and Mark Bates. These guys know how to work the decks whilst looking super-cool doing it! Our unique herb bar also doubles up as a DJ booth and helps in the style-stakes too!
If you’re looking for soulful soothing tunes as the soundtrack to your day, then you need to hear Steven Heath. He’s a must-have, if not for his dreamy voice, then for his friendly, chilled-out demeanour. He’s sure to bring a relaxed and moving vibe to your wedding or event. Oh, and expect tears, that is, lots of lovely happy tears!
Nobody hopes for rain on their wedding day, but when Brolly Buckets rock up with their colourful umbrellas, it’s hard not to want just one photo under the canopy of their rainbow-coloured brollies!
To give our Teepee stage backdrop that added sparkle, we used Marvellous Glow’s fairy light curtain. If you want your Teepees or Sperry Tents to twinkle, then check them out for all manner of interesting lighting elements and embellishments.
Take a look at our Finishing Touches Brochure to help imagine your own event come to life. Peruse the bar, table and chair choices and speak to your PapaKåta Event Planner about your wedding and event day wish-lists.
Our Open Weekends are the highlight of the PapaKåta calendar. Often the first and sometimes the only time we get to chat through your events face-to-face, we love the opportunity to get excited with you and your family and friends. We want to take this opportunity to thank you for attending our Open Weekend and for choosing PapaKåta to be a part of what is sure to be one of the greatest days of your life.
Until the next Open Weekend (which incidentally is on the 17th & 18th March 2018 – details below) lots of PapaLove PKx
