PapaCouple, Craig & Anya, visit our Open Weekend

Our lovely Sperry PapaCouple, Anya and Craig, visited our Spring Open Weekend in March, and here share their experience on the day, getting up close and personal with their Sperry Tent, meeting their Event Planner, and filming for our new Papa brand film! Over to Craig…

Driving into Escrick Park, it was hard to miss the Papakåta Sperry and Teepees on the horizon. Anya immediately went into snap happy mode, taking photos of the beautiful sailcloth Sperry as we walked along the festoon walkway – of course stopping for the obligatory selfie!

Despite the grey and chilly morning, we were warmed and filled with excitement as soon as we entered the Sperry. The light airy sense of space was overwhelming even though grey clouds were looming outside. The festoon lighting strung from the canopy created a magical twinkle and highlighted how much space and height we have in the Sperry. At this point I was trailing in Anya’s wake as she was running around the Sperry admiring the amazing circular bar, table decorations, cakes, floral hoops…the list goes on!

Sitting down with Danielle, our Event Planner, was great as we went through out bespoke quote line by line and we discussed every option under the sun. It was great to have her ideas and input regarding the space and layout and her insight on what had worked well from previous experience. Going through the logistics helped as it brought to the surface some questions we needed to sit down and think about further, ranging from stage requirements for music to security for the Sperry once it was erected.

All in all, the Papa team were really friendly and helpful, and we enjoyed getting involved with the new Papa brand film as their Sperry PapaCouple (after our initial camera shyness!) and meeting the Orillo Productions crew and Dominic Wright Photography. There was a real buzz at the Open Weekend with other excited couples looking around the space and imaginations running wild as to how they could put their personal touch on the very same space.
