Teepee PapaCouple, Scott & Alice, enjoy our Open Weekend
Scott and Alice, our teepee PapaCouple, will be getting married this Summer at The Hideaway at Baxby Manor. They came to our Open Weekend last month to plan the finer details of their wedding day and here share their experience…
Excitement, joy and celebration – just a few of our feelings as we approached Escrick Park for the PapaKåta Open Weekend, ahead of our big day in June. It’s not every day you’re greeted with a camera crew and a photographer solely for you!

We were welcomed by the friendly and familiar PapaKåta team and couldn’t wait to go inside the teepee again to see our wedding venue! It honestly looks more and more impressive every time we see it. Any planning nerves immediately went out the window as we met Rachael who talked us through the morning ahead at the Open Weekend.
We made our way into our teepee and we were blown away! The PapaKåta team never fail to impress with new layouts and finishing touches, giving us the inspiration to come up with the perfect vision for our big day! To make it even better, the floral display was put together by the awesome Lucy Macnicoll, who just so happens to be our chosen florist too!
As we walked around with our imaginations running wild, we were called by the Orillo Productions film crew to give them our PapaCouple wedding story. What fantastic guys they were as well. We felt immediately at ease as they talked us through what they would ask, they were just so friendly and professional.

We then went on to see the lovely Kate – our Event Planner – who has been able to make our ideas become a reality. Kate has been amazing since day one, giving us advice, ideas and listening to our constant ramblings and mind changes! She’s guided us through the whole process wonderfully, putting us at ease and always been available when we need her. As this was our last face-to-face meeting before the wedding, we obviously had a lot of questions, and as usual, Kate was on hand to answer every one. As we put the final finishing touches to our teepee, it suddenly dawned on us. The next time we set foot inside, we will be husband and wife!
We hear stories of stress and tears from couples planning their weddings, but we can honestly say that PapaKåta have been able to take all of the stress out of the planning, allowing us to feel nothing but excitement for our day! Roll on the 11th of June!
