Meet Sperry wedding #PapaCouple Anya & Craig

Over the next six months, our Sperry wedding #PapaCouple Anya & Craig, will be sharing their PapaKåta journey with us as they plan their Sperry Tent wedding. We hope you’ll be inspired as they share their world of wedmin, from decor decisions to their search for the perfect wedding suppliers.

Over to Anya & Craig…and their story so far.

Having both gone to Durham University, it wasn’t until Craig had left to start work in London that we got together – he was visiting a friend (clinging onto the university dream!) and with the help of a little dutch courage, came over and introduced himself. Seven years later, with countless miles travelled managing the long distance between London and Yorkshire, he popped the question in Sorrento last summer!

The classic country chic wedding has always appealed to me, and after seeing PapaKåta’s incredible teepees at The Great Yorkshire Show, I’d sworn to one of my sisters “that is what I will have”, however, at that point I was unaware of Craig’s intentions!

Although we’re now living in London, I’m a Yorkshire girl at heart and one weekend whilst visiting home fate intervened. We were out cycling and saw an idyllic set up for a wedding – open Yorkshire fields, beautiful blue skies with the sun shining and a Papakåta teepee! From this point we were set on a Yorkshire wedding – let the planning commence!

Whilst it was the teepees that had captured my heart and introduced us to Papakata, after visiting the website, the stunning Sperry tents were there staring at us. It was love at first click. Suddenly everything was turned on it’s head and after a few sleepless nights, we made the decision to ‘cheat’ on our first true love with the new tent in town!

We loved the airy spacious feel of the Sperry, created by the height of the tent and the amount of daylight that they offer – especially with the sides opened up which allows you to extend your wedding venue into the surrounding field. Not to mention all of the added extras, the fairy lights, the entrance walkway, the chic tables and chairs – the list goes on! So now it’s fingers crossed for the weather in August!

With the turn of the New Year, it is all becoming very real. With eight months to go, the wedding ball is certainly rolling and we hope you enjoy our PapaKåta journey.
