What’s an average day like as Event’s Coordinator at PapaKata?

There’s never an average day at Papakåta, no two days are ever the same. My role as Events Coordinator is to help and support the event’s team, some days can be assisting with all the admin, which includes filing, booking crew accommodation and booking site visits. Other days can be in the warehouse being more hands with all the furnishings and finishing touches. Never knowing what you’re going to come into in the morning is what makes Papakåta and my job an exciting fun place to work.

What’s the best thing about your job?

The best thing about my job as said before is not knowing what you’re going to walk into day to day, there is no routine. I would also say the Papakåta team have made my placement, everyone gets on and there is never a dull moment in the office no matter how busy we all are!

What’s been the most challenging thing about your placement?

There have been many challenges throughout my placement. One of the main challenges was ensuring that all crew were booked into accommodation which had all the suitable facilities to accommodate our larger vehicles and all within the set budget. This was particularly difficult when booking accommodation for crew down South.

What’s been your favourite event to plan?

I wouldn’t be able to single out one event over the summer; there have been so many fantastic parties over the season. If I did have to name one it would be working on the Corporate parties with venues such as Soho Farmhouse.

What’s the best thing about PapaKata?

The best thing about Papakåta is the variety of events we do and that we will always give things ago no matter how crazy they seem. The team as a whole has also made my experience with Papakåta extremely enjoyable.

What advice would you give to students who want to do a placement with PapaKata?

The only bit of advice I would give to other students wishing to do a placement with Papakåta is be passionate, hard working and be prepared for anything.
