Beautiful Botanicals
This week the PapaBlog welcomes the lovely Wendy from The Charming Press. The Charming Press is our go-to place for stunning stationery and Wendy has illustrated some fabulous stationery and artwork for us in the past, as well as for our PapaKåta brides, grooms and party planners. As a PapaKåta bride herself, Wendy knows only too well that PapaKåta peeps want something beautiful, fresh and unique just, like their own event, and what better way to annotate your fabulous event than with this year’s hottest trend – botanicals!

I’m massively excited to be showcasing some beautiful stationery again this year at the PapaKåta Open Weekend on the 21st & 22nd March, and even more excited that one of the key styling themes of the open weekend is ‘Botanical!’
The Botanical trend is big news right now in so many areas – from homewares to clothing, all the way down to stationery – and I have to say I absolutely love it. It’s modern and fresh and the colours and tone can lend themselves perfectly to a spring, summer or even winter wedding.
Botanicals sneak preview
Floral arrangements are where I get most of my inspiration for colour palettes to complement the botanical wedding vibe. Personally, I adore the more ‘undone’ natural florals and this style really complements a Sperry or Teepee wedding – fun, modern and cool! Brides really are moving away from structured arrangements and replacing them with relaxed floral designs and this look is very much reflected in wedding stationery trends also. Couples are looking for the less traditional styles and moving towards a much more modern way to invite their guests. It’s becoming more and more important to use stationery as a way for couples to set the tone for the whole day and give their guests a glimpse of what they’re planning.

Our new Botanical collection, which will be launched at the PapaKåta open weekend, combines beautiful loose drawing with watercolour florals and quirky yet pretty modern typography – all complemented with our stunning jewel coloured envelopes and address calligraphy. Our stationery is all fully customizable with a full collection of ‘on the day’ stationery also available.
