Autumn Open Weekend: Food & Drink Trends
With only three weeks until our Autumn Open Weekend, we thought we would share some wedding food and drink trends with you! Come along on Saturday 15th and Sunday 16th October 2016 to Escrick Park Estate near York and meet our fabulous partners, The Hog & Apple and Speakeasy Libations, and see these wedding trends in action!
Trend #1: Specialist Liquor Bars
Forget standard cocktail or prosecco bars. In 2017 it’s all about the specialist liquor bar. Create a homage to your favourite hard tipple, with high quality glassware and some luxe styling.
Alex from Speakeasy Libations, gives us his low-down on this trend. “Bloody Mary Bars are growing in popularity as they are perfect for drinkers and non-drinkers – abundant with super fresh ingredients. Bellini Bars are super-luxe and feminine, and I also love a Whiskey Bar complete with old-fashioned cut glass decanters and tasting notes for guests to sample a ‘wee dram’.”
Trend #2: It’s all in the serve
The trend for sharing food doesn’t seem to be going away. But rather than rustic street food vans, this style of food is going luxe. Perfectly fitting with the the Farmhouse-Luxe look, the finest of locally-sourced produce is served on warm wood platters.
Ged from The Hog and Apple tells us “Couples are seeking dishes that represent them, what they love to eat, and in the process, creating a far more social style of dining at their wedding, where the food becomes the focal point. We have introduced a range of ‘Floating British Oak Boards’ that sit on stilts above the glassware, making it far more practical and premium. New for 2017 is the Tomahawk Board – an amazing bone rib steak for three – and hugely popular is the Chateaubriand Board, with delicious options of beef cheek and oxtails.”
The Open Weekend is the perfect opportunity to step inside the Teepees and Sperry Tents and talk to the Papa team about the finer details of your wedding or event. Appointments are highly recommended. Available on both Saturday and Sunday between 10am and 4pm, to book, please call PapaKåta on 01491 714 002 or email us.
